Why Measure W?

Support Firefighters
Fund Community Housing

Measure W will provide approximately $600,000 per year in funding to help West Marin fire departments, most of them volunteer organizations. The dramatically increasing demands on emergency responders to meet the health and safety needs of the large visitor influxes to the area require addition staff and equipment.
Measure W will provide approximately $600,000 per year to help West Marin community housing organizations create and preserve family, workforce and senior long-term housing in our communities.  This housing stock has been reduced by the conversion of rental housing to short-term, Airbnb type units to accommodate rising visitor demand.
Measure W’s funding of community housing further assists our fire departments by creating housing opportunities for volunteer candidates to replace present firefighters as they age and retire from active service.  These housing opportunities will allow young families to move here, increasing  our declining school populations with added students, working in local businesses and revitalizing our towns.
